The registration period of the 6th edition of our International Photography Competition is now over. Thank you to all the contestants who submitted their work. The online vote on Facebook will begin on December 16th so be sure visit our Facebook page and vote for your favourite pictures!
Competition planning:
Start of the competition: October 3rd 2011
Registrations to the competition will start from this date. Contestants should register on this web page.
Registration deadline: Special extension: until December 1st 2011, 11:00 GMT
All members wishing to take part in the competition will have to upload their pictures from October 3rd until November 30th.
Competition selection: from December 1st to December 14th
The jury will select the RAYMOND WEIL International Photography Prize winner and select 30 finalists - 10 by region (The Americas, Europe & Africa and Asia &Oceania).
Online voting: December 17th 2011 to January 17th 2012, 11:00 GMT
The works of the 30 finalists will be presented on Facebook and fans of our Facebook page will have the opportunity to vote for the pictures they like best. For each of the 3 regions, the artist who got the most votes will win the Public's Choice Award.
Awards: January 18th 2012
The jury will announce the winner of the "RAYMOND WEIL International Photography Competition” and the 3 winners as voted online by our Facebook fans.
BASELWORLD production: January / February 2012
The winner of the RAYMOND WEIL International Photography Competition will have the opportunity to exhibit his/her winning work in the RAYMOND WEIL booth during BASELWORLD 2012 - The World's Leading Watch & Jewellery Show.
BASELWORLD: March 8th to March 15th 2012
The RAYMOND WEIL International Photography Competition winner’s exhibition will take place in the RAYMOND WEIL booth.
Requirements:
- Number of photos: 3
- Format: JPG or GIF only
- Size: 600 x 600 pixels maximum
- Resolution: 72 dpi (smaller resolution will not be accepted)
- A high resolution copy (300 dpi) of each picture submitted for the later stage of the competition as the winning picture will be printed in a large format.
Awards & Prizes:
There will be four awards:
- The RAYMOND WEIL International Photography Prize
- The Public's Choice Award for the Americas
- The Public’s Choice Award for Europe & Africa
- The Public’s Choice Award for Asia & Oceania
The RAYMOND WEIL International Photography Prize will be awarded by the jury:
- US $ 10,000
- Exhibition in a recognized art gallery, in an international artistic capital city
- Exhibition on the RAYMOND WEIL booth during BASELWORLD 2012 - the world's leading Watch & Jewellery Show
- RAYMOND WEIL will support the artist by communicating on him/her and his/her works
The Public's Choice Awards:
These prizes will be awarded by RAYMOND WEIL fans after the first selection made by the jury. The vote will held online on Facebook from December 17th 2011 to January 17th 2012, 11:00 GMT. A fan can only vote once for her/his favourite artist.
- US $ 1,500
- Exhibition of the awarded pictures in a RAYMOND WEIL boutique
- RAYMOND WEIL will support the artist by communicating on him/her and his/her works
The official jury:
The official jury is composed of professionals of the branch and RAYMOND WEIL officials:
- For the Americas: Mrs Annette Booth, from the Aperture Gallery, New York
- For Europe and Africa: Mr Radu Stern, from the Musée de l'Elysée, Lausanne, Switzerland
- For Asia and Oceania: Mr Xie Mo, renowned professional photographer, China
- Elie Bernheim, Director of RAYMOND WEIL
And our special ambassador will be Mr Jiang Wen, famour Chinese actor, director and playwright.
