Join RAYMOND WEIL in its involvements with several charities
to make this world a better place.
Watchmaking and gastronomy are two closely related universes, which share a common ancestral know-how, a preoccupation with detail and constant research into innovation. It is for this reason that Swiss watch manufacturer RAYMOND WEIL is particularly happy to announce its partnership with Thierry Marx, one of the most prestigious French chefs. With the creation of a special edition watch, the nabucco Thierry Marx, the Swiss Brand will be supporting Chef Thierry Marx in his charitable projects.
During the second semester of 2012, chef Marx will open a new school in cooperation with the City Council of the 20th district of Paris. This original concept will offer eight-week training courses in the hotel and catering trades to “second try” students, who are retraining or in rehabilitation. It is this new project that RAYMOND WEIL will be supporting, by offering part of the proceeds from the sale of its special edition nabucco Thierry Marx, which will be available from April 2012.
Cancer is one of the leading causes of death around the world. One out of every 600 children suffers from cancer. Although recovery rates from childhood cancers have improved considerably in the last 30 years (from 30% to around more than 70%), these illnesses are still the second leading cause of death in children over one year old.
The Pediatric Hemato-Oncology Unit of Geneva University Hospital is working actively to develop more effective and less toxic treatments for those children. Committed for many years in various charity actions, RAYMOND WEIL is renewing its initiative in 2012 to aid in research and treatment of those who have been touched by this dreadful disease with an exclusive maestro edition limited to 5 pieces engraved with the mention “maestro Mouvement d’Espoir – Edition Spéciale 2012”. The sale will exclusively take place on Facebook to reach as many people as possible and engage the entire Facebook community. The proceeds will be doubled by RAYMOND WEIL and donated to the Pediatric Hemato-Oncology Unit of Geneva University Hospital – Switzerland.
Keeping true to RAYMOND WEIL’s support for the arts and, most importantly, music, from which the Brand draws constant inspiration, RAYMOND WEIL is thrilled to support and partner with the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. This non-profit organization dedicated to restoring instrumental music education programs, ensures that every child has access to a complete education that includes the benefits of music instruction.
RAYMOND WEIL has supported The VH1 Save The Music Foundation throughout the fourth quarter of 2011 with a combination of sales promotions and special events, including the third instalment of the Foundation’s Songwriters Music Series in Los Angeles featuring some of today’s most celebrated artists, including headliner and Grammy Award Winner, Colbie Caillat, performing hit songs while also sharing personal stories behind the music in front of a live audience.
Additionally, RAYMOND WEIL, in conjunction with the VH1 Save The Music Foundation, had launched a sales promotion with the new maestro collection, where a portion of the sales of any purchased maestro timepiece went to support the foundation.
